Affirming Black Families is a *new* parent education and capacity building program for Black parents and caregivers of LGBTQ youth. The series will feature a monthly virtual workshop to equip Black parents with the community, knowledge and resources to build safe, loving, affirming and celebratory homes for Black queer and trans youth in Baltimore City.
Who should attend? Any adult parent, caregiver or family member interested in receiving support and resources while they do the work to love, affirm and celebrate their LGBTQ kid!
What to expect? A friendly, low-key virtual gathering to share ideas, stories, strategies and strength. Each month will focus on a different topic.
We know you have questions. We welcome your curiosity. We expect your kindness!
Affirming Black Families - March! is all about change! How do we deal with change? How do we make space for our young people's changes and growth spurts? How do we care for ourselves as we support our youth? Let's learn together!
