About this Event

Dates: This class runs Mondays from 7 - 9pm, starting Jan. 18th and running for 8 weeks

PLEASE NOTE: This class will be conducted online through Zoom! Enrolled students will be emailed a Zoom link earlier in the evening of the event. For the best experience you should have a steady internet connection and a quiet space. The experience is best on a laptop, desktop, or large iPad - ideally you won't have the device in your hand so that you can stand up and move around and still be on camera.

Instructor: Ti Coleman

Prerequisites: None. Email info@rvacomedy.com with questions.

Explore the fundamentals of improv - agreement, commitment, teamwork, spontaneity and listening through fun exercises and group play.

Participants will learn fun games and exercises that will lead to the creation of scenes, characters and laughs!

Ti Coleman has taught and performed improv for the past 10 years. He is a veteran member of the Baltimore Improv Group mainstage. As a founding member of Casually Dope, they have performed and featured in many cities such as Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Calgary and Toronto. They are an experienced teacher, teaching BIG University classes: Intro to Improv, Intro to Longform, Scene work, Advanced Short form and Ensemble. They are an experienced corporate trainer including applied improv, role play and corporate sketch. They have extensive experience working with youth as an after school manager, creator of the first teen BIG troupe, and Baltimore City teaching artist. They work with organizations such as Maryland Improv Collective, Wombwork Productions, Creative Alliance and Young Audiences of Maryland to deliver culturally relevant youth programming and accessible improv training.

COST: So that everyone might experience the joy of learning comedy, The Coalition is experimenting with the idea of a "Pay What You Can" program. For an 8 week session, a donation of $150 is suggested to secure a place in this class but $0 is a totally acceptable payment. In order to move forward, however, each individual class does need to be able to bring in enough money to pay its instructor and its share of the cost of Zoom.
